TWO Barnsley MPs recently paid a visit to BIADS to see first-hand the invaluable services that the charity provides.

BIADS offers a wide range of support for people living with dementia, as well as their carers, families, and friends.

Barnsley North MP Dan Jarvis and Barnsley South MP Stephanie Peacock met with staff to hear more about the difference BIADS makes each day - from providing practical advice and emotional support to creating a welcoming and safe community space.

They also learned more about the challenges faced by those affected by dementia and how BIADS continues to step up to meet those needs.

Dan said: “The team at BIADS do an incredible job supporting people living with dementia and their loved ones.

“The dedication and compassion they show every day makes a real difference, and I’m proud to support the important role they play in Barnsley.”

Stephanie added: “More than 3,000 people in Barnsley are living with a dementia diagnosis today.

“This is set to increase by 50 per cent in the next five years.
