JIMBOB the ferret went missing from his Cudworth home last week and its owners thought that he might be gone for good - that was until he was found in the bonnet of their neighbour’s car almost a week later.

At six years old you’d have thought he’d have done most of his exploring already - but he’s had one hell of a week since his shock disappearance.

Sarah Guest said Jimbob had managed to get out last Friday and there was no sign of him - that was until her neighbour Tamsyn Crossland took her car into the garage yesterday morning after it had been playing up all week.

Sarah told the Chronicle: “Tamsyn told me that her car had been playing up all week and the engine light was on and she ended up going to get it checked out.

“The man at the garage lifted up the bonnet and Jimbob’s head just popped out.

“It gave him a right shock.

“Tamsyn called me and told me about it and I couldn’t believe it.

“He’s been on the school run every day and going around town - he’s been on a right mission.”

Other than his fur now turning black due to his residence over the last week, he’s thankfully fine and Sarah says they’ll be keeping a close eye on him.

“He’s back and he’s bouncing around his cage,” she added.

“It’s like nothing has happened for him.”
