Art is at the heart of a new Barnsley Olympics project for youngsters.
Staff at Barnsley YMCA are counting down to the games and to gear up for the sporting event they are working with kids on an art project about different sports and Olympians.
Andrea Battye, a community and youth worker for the YMCA, said they are working with children aged eight to 16 to create sculptures with recycled materials.
She said youngsters had visited galleries and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, using their experiences to produce Olympic-themed art work.
"They have also been to the English Institute of Sport to research their own Olympic icons."
The project has been funded with a £2,462 grant from the Newham-Barnsley Partnership Aspiration and Achievement Fund.
