A LOCAL charity has celebrated a key anniversary.
Beacon SY, a non-profit charity who offer support for carers in South Yorkshire, recently celebrated their 25th anniversary on October 8.
The charity uplift carers, offering them emotional support with a range of specially designed sessions.
They provide one-to-one support, counselling, drop-ins, coffee mornings and more.
The celebration was well attended by volunteers, carers and professionals, giving them a chance to share their story.
The event was also attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnsley.
Lynda McDermott, Funding Manager for Beacon SY, said: “It’s absolutely amazing we’ve got this far.
“The future is brighter for future carers, we are a beacon of hope for them.”
