A THOUGHTFUL bus driver has received a commendation for his actions.

Clive Baker, who works as a bus driver for Stagecoach in Barnsley, has been praised for ensuring the safety of two pedestrians.

A pedestrian wrote to Stagecoach Yorkshire to tell their story.

The pedestrian claimed to have been walking late at night with a friend, on their way home from a concert.

Fearing for their wellbeing, Clive pulled over his bus to check on them, asking where they were going.

Clive resolved to take the pair to the nearest stop to their hotel.

As they were getting off the bus, Clive offered the pedestrians some valuable safety advice about their walk back.

The commendation read: “Your driver went above and beyond to assist us and I would like to thank him very much for all his help - please thank him.”

Stagecoach Yorkshire rewarded Clive’s thoughtful actions by awarding him a certificate of commendation and a Love2Shop voucher - which were handed over by duty manager, Shayne Howarth.
