YOUNGSTERS at a local primary school will be Rocking All Over The World on Tuesday when a former member of Status Quo drops in.
Jeff Rich joined the world-famous band in 1985 as a drummer before leaving in 2000 - and since then he’s been touring schools across the UK giving masterclasses in drumming and percussion.
And next week it’s the turn of Laithes Primary School in Athersley North.
Headteacher Georgina Fletcher is hoping Jeff’s visit will inspire pupils to be more creative.
She told the Chronicle: “As part of our personal development and enrichment programme we are looking forward to a visit from Jeff Rich, world famous drummer from Status Quo to our school.
“Children will be invited up to play different drums throughout the session and the whole workshop will be hands-on.
“We are hoping the children will enjoy the hands-on musical experience and will be inspired to consider creative careers as the first of a series of workshops and careers visitors.”
