AN enforcement team commissioned to clamp down on parents’ problematic parking outside schools issued 24 fines in a two-week period.

The South Area Council’s contract only began in early October but already officers are having an impact.

Covering Darfield, Hoyland Milton, Rockingham and Wombwell wards, a total of 11 schools have been visited.

Ellis Church of England Primary had the most PCNs issued with eight falling foul, closely followed by Hoyland Common Primary, where seven parents or carers were fined.

A report said: “The parking enforcement commission officially commenced on October 1, meaning this report provides an early snapshot rather than a full reporting period.

“A more detailed quarterly report will follow, incorporating additional data and insights.

“Since the launch, the team has successfully established its operational structure.

“Staffing is now in place with three senior civil enforcement officers, supported by ten others, ensuring adequate coverage across the area.”
