BARNSLEY Town Hall’s annual Christmas event is set to return once again this year.

This festive tradition is designed to welcome everyone into the heart of the community, without any worries about cost.

The event has been running since 2015 and this year’s spectacle - which will take place on December 6 from 11am to 3pm - will see a Father Christmas handing out free gifts, a story teller and a number of other activities.

It is the brainchild of Coun Sharon Howard, who is passionate about making the town hall a welcoming space for all.

She said: “I wanted to get more people to come into the town hall and not have to worry about cost.

“It’s nice to bring people together.

“I’m so pleased to put this on again this year.”
