Fabio Jalo started and scored for Barnsley under 21s in their 1-1 home draw with Cardiff City on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Portugal youth international has been out since April with a knee injury.
The under 21s are now due to visit Coventry City on Friday.
Barnsley under 18s drew 3-3 at Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
They took the lead, trailed 2-1 then led 3-2 before conceding in the 96th minute.
The scorers were Feyi Afuape, Jack Woodcock and Chris Ogbu.
They are now due to host Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
