Dearne and District and Worsbrough Bridge drew 1-1 in their top of the table clash in NCEL Division One.

Worsbrough’s Keelan Grist opened the scoring with a controversial penalty just before half-time then Jamie Austin levelled.

Bridge were given another penalty late on but it was saved by Ellis Pickard.

Dearne stay top but have taken just a point from their last two games.

They are seven points clear of Harrogate Railway, who have four games in hand, and eight ahead of Worsbrough who have three games in hand.

One side is promoted automatically while the next four play in the play-offs.

Dearne had won 11 consecutive home matches since the opening day while Worsbrough had won ten in a row away since their first of the season.

Worsbrough are unbeaten in 19 games in all competitions, winning 16, while their last 20 league matches since August have seen them win 16, draw three and lose one.

Athersley Rec lost 3-0 at home to Winterton Rangers in a crucial game at the other end of the table.

Rec are now a point and a place clear of the relegation zone, with Winterton the team just behind them.

They are winless in eight.

The Premier Division derby between Penistone Church and Wombwell Town was called off due to rain.

Town remain winless in 12 in the league and bottom while Church have not won in 11 and are 15th, six points above the bottom two.
