BARNSLEY head coach Conor Hourihane has been named League One Manager of the Month for November.

The Reds won 2-1 at local rivals Doncaster Rovers then thrashed Luton Town 5-0 before conceding an 89th-minute leveller in a 1-1 draw at Stockport County.

They collected seven points from a possible nine, landing their 34-year-old coach his first monthly award as a manager. Hourihane said: “It’s nice to be recognised, but the credit goes to the players and staff for their hard work.

“We’ve had a good run in the league, but we need to certainly build on this heading into a vital stage of the season.

“Thank you to the Barnsley supporters for their backing.”
