A BARNSLEY teenager is set to walk 20 kilometres in April to raise funds for Diabetes UK after her dad lost his leg earlier this month.

Kevin Fisher was diagnosed with dieabtetes in 2023 and last April suffered a heart attack.

Following the heart attack, he developed a venous leg ulcer and after ten months of ‘suffering’, he had the leg amputated on January 9.

His daughter, 16-year-old Ivory Fisher, decided she wanted to do something in honour of her dad - who she says raised her as a signle parent and has been her ‘biggest rock’.

On April 26, she’s set to walk 20km for Diabetes UK and she’s already raised £360 of her £1,000 target.

She told the Chronicle: “My dad had to have his leg taken off and he’s struggling at the minute so I wanted to do something nice for him and to raise money for the charity.

“The charity means so much to me because I’ve seen what diabetes has put my dad through.

“It’s the first time I’m doing anything like this.”
