PENISTONE Church drew 3-3 for a second successive game as they conceded late on at Albion Sports in the NCEL Premier.

They trailed 2-0 at the break but Leon Hurles-Brook pulled one back early in the second half then Nathan Keightley scored on 77 and 83 minutes to put the visitors ahead.

Fernando Moke levelled in injury-time for the hosts.

Church are tenth, ten points clear of the relegation zone and 14 off the play-offs.

They are unbeaten in six since December 13, winning two and drawing four.

They have just nine games remaining this season starting at runaway leaders Liversedge on Saturday.

Coach Brett Lovell said: “I was proud of the boys, they were excellent for large portions of the game.

“We had a goal ruled out for offside and it was very tight, even their boys thought he was on.

“They took the lead then, with the second one, we were a bit naïve and it was ultimately our own doing.

“At half-time we’d had the lion’s share of play and chances so we were disappointed to go in 2-0 down.

“We said that if we got a goal back early, the game would swing on its head and it did.

“We then had Rob Ludlam sin-binned so we had to spend ten minutes with ten men.

“We thought ‘oh no we we’re up against an excellent side on a massive pitch’ then Leon Hurles-Brook got free through the offside trap and pulled it back for Nathan Keightley to score and we got to 2-2.

“The lads to a man were excellent and got the third goal.

“Unfortunately Albion put it on us and we actually conceded the equaliser when we went back to 11 men.

“We’ve come a long way.

“In November we would have lost that game three or 4-0.

“The group of players in the squad have a never say die attitude and they’ve fought for their badge again.”
