A CELEBRATED filmmaker gave an exclusive talk at a comedy film festival.
The audience at the Slapstick Festival, located in Bristol, couldn’t get enough of Dean Sillls.
Dean, who is part of a father-daughter filmmaking duo with Rebecca Sills, delivered a Q and A session - alongside being interviewed by Andrew Kelly.
Audiences celebrated the Bolton-upon-Dearne pair’s ‘Laurel and Hardy’s Yorkshire Adventures’ documentary - and were begging for more from the award-winning duo.
In their documentary, the pair visited the venues where the comedic duo frequented.
Along the way, they met interesting a series of entertaining people, including Mark Greenhow, Graham Ibbeson and Martin Shaw.
The documentary premiered at the Laurel and Hardy UK convention, last May.
It was subsequently released on DVD, in October.
Dean has admitted that he has been surprised by the film’s popularity at the event - and is currently scouting further locations for a potential follow-up documentary.
He said: “Slapstick Festival in Bristol went really well last week.
“The film played to a packed audience with everyone loving the film.
“It was followed by a great Q and A, with so many people asking if we are making another documentary.
“I am seriously looking at other locations where they performed, like Grimsby and Hull for a follow-up film.
“I didn’t realise the film would be so well received there.
“Andrew did a great job presenting the film and asking me all about it.”
