A BARNSLEY educational resource provider who ‘inspires the next generation’ has welcomed an award.

Amazelab, based in Barnsley, is a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) educational resource provider - which has been selected as part of the Green Growth 100.

The initiative, launched by Small Business Britain, in partnership with BT - aims to spotlight small businesses successfully using sustainability to drive growth.

The award champions one hundred small businesses across the UK that are embedding sustainable practices into their operations - from cutting waste and energy use to rethinking supply chains and attracting new customers.

Founded in 2020, by Leonie and David Briggs, the business’ sustainable practices have demonstrated it is possible to run an environmentally-conscious business that is also a commercial success.

The awards ceremony for the honour will take place in March, with employees being excited to attend.

A spokesperson for Amazelab said: “Being named among the top 100 organisations is an incredible recognition of our commitment to embedding sustainability into every aspect of what we do.

“At Amazelab, we believe that inspiring the next generation to think critically about the planet’s future starts with creative, meaningful learning experiences.
