‘FROM the pits to the podium’ is the slogan behind a new bodybuilding competition set to arrive in Barnsley later this year.
The IBFA GB Barnsley Colliery Classic will be held at Harborough Hills Social Pub on June 14.
Royston man Kyle Weiss has been training to become a bodybuilder since he was 14 - and his dad Terry has won it all.
Kyle has always wanted to launch a show in his hometown and with support - including that of Wombwell woman Krystina Jamieson - he has launched the show later this year.
Kyle said: “We found that Harborough Hills Social Pub were more than happy to let us host it.
“We have sorted all the details to get the show on the road and make history in Barnsley.”
Krystina added: “We have brought a transformation class in both the male and female categories.
“There’s no specific criteria for how you look on stage.
“It’s just an inspirational change category from either obesity, illness, addiction or mental health where they can showcase themselves on stage.”
