A WOMBWELL car park is set to undergo improvement works thanks to a Barnsley Council scheme.
Line markings in Summer Lane car park will be refreshed as part of widespread Love Where You Live investment in every Barnsley ward.
The works, planned for spring 2026, have been designed to make the car park safer and easier for everyone to use.
By renewing the lines, the layout will become clearer to drivers and pedestrians, helping to reduce the risk of accidents.
Coun Wendy Cain, cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: “These improvements are all about making everyday journeys that little bit safer and easier for people.
“We know how much Summer Lane car park in Wombwell is used, so refreshing the layout is an important step in looking after a space that many rely on.
“It’s another example of how, through Love Where You Live, we’re continuing to care for the places people use most and building stronger, more connected communities.”
