BARNSLEY’S men are champions of YNE Peak and Wold Division Two.
They drew 3-3 with Chapeltown on Saturday with goals by George Darby, Connor Massey and David Bayliss.
Barnsley had to come back from 2-0 and 3-2 down.
The Reds are now seven points clear at the top with two games to play starting at home to Louth on Saturday.
They have won 14, drawn one and lost one of 16 games.
Captain James Shaw said: “It’s another fantastic achievement. It has been a real team effort.
“Everyone has tried their hardest, played very well and I’m proud to be part of it.
“When we have our strongest team out, we can beat a lot of teams in our division and above.
“Hopefully we can improve the squad for next season and have another strong season.
“We’re looking at starting a development team as well.
“We got relegated last season because we couldn’t field a team for a game and we got a point taken off which relegated us on goals difference.
“We started off in a mini league because Yorkshire Hockey had swapped it round a bit to make it more competitive.
“We lost one game in that then went in a new league and we had injuries so it looked like we would really struggle.
“We lost to Sheffield Bankers but since Christmas we have had three or four new players join us from good levels which has really helped.
“Most of the games have been quite competitive but we recorded our biggest ever win, 17-0.”
Meanwhile, the women’s team could also get promoted after they won 4-2 over Sheffield 5th XI in Peak Division One.
That left them second, six points behind champions Sheffield University Bankers, who they visit in their final game on Saturday, and one clear in second place.
A win would guarantee promotion but any result could send them up depending on other scores.
Joanne Hughes scored twice and Chloe Fitzsimmons once for the Reds who are unbeaten in 11.
