A WHOLE host of services will be available at Penistone Library when it reopens next week.
The new-look library will officially open its doors on Monday.
The works included major building infrastructure improvements and full-fibre broadband internet connectivity, representing a significant investment to future-proof the site for years to come.
By bringing a range of services together on one site instead of operating from different buildings, the council say they are able to reduce costs and make the most efficient use of facilities.
Services such as DIAL, the Penistone Area Team, NHS midwifery team and Citizens’ Advice will all have homes at the site.
South Yorkshire Police’s Barnsley West Neighbourhood Policing Team/ will also operate from the library building.
Anna Hartley, executive director for public health and communities, said: “We can’t wait to invite everyone back to the modern, welcoming Penistone Library.
“The new-look library will be a colourful, comfortable and flexible place to spend time, whether you want to settle down with a good book, get stuck into a family activity or do a couple of hours of studying.
“Our libraries are not just places to borrow a book, they’re hubs for the community, so I’m pleased we’ve been able to bring the library services people enjoy together with other vital services under one roof.”
