A BARNSLEY police officer who allegedly accessed police systems without a purpose before disclosing information to his partner will face a misconduct panel next week.

On Monday, the officer - who has been labelled as PC A - will face the police panel over a breach of standards.

A report states: “On August 31, 2025 the officer allegedly accessed police systems without a policing purpose.

“The officer allegedly requested a colleague complete a check on a police system on his behalf.

“The officer was dishonest in the reason for requesting the check be completed.

“On August 31, 2025 the officer allegedly disclosed information obtained from police systems to his partner, without a policing purpose.

“This is a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity, confidentiality, orders and instructions and duties and responsibilities

“The matters set out above are breaches of the standards which are so serious as to justify dismissal and therefore constitute gross misconduct.”
