BARNSLEY College’s staff and students have joined forces with a local folk band to create their official music video.
Common Culture consists of vocalist and guitarist Dan Watson, fiddler and vocalist Lizzie Watson, drummer Chris Reed and Evie Ridge on bass.
The new single ‘It’s Gonna Work Out’ is taken from the band’s upcoming album of the same name, with the official music video filmed at Barnsley College’s dance studio.
Performing arts students Katie Ludditt and William Ellis were invited to take part in the filming process, working alongside members of the band and tutor Gemma Nixon.
Katie said: “I loved filming the music video.
“It was a great experience and I loved getting a glimpse into professional work.
“It was great to help out our teachers.”
William added: “I really enjoyed doing the music video as it was my first proper time doing acting for camera.
“It helped me understand the behind the scenes aspect of acting on screen, which will help me in the future.”
Lizzie Morris, from Common Culture, said: “We were incredibly grateful for the students’ enthusiasm and contribution, and it was fantastic to collaborate with Barnsley College on a project that showcases local music and creative talent.”
