CAN any of our readers throw any light on a photograph which has come into our possession showing a group of men who travelled to Coventry to play in a football match?

The men and their supporters, who are also on the photo, were from Lundwood Working Men’s Club (otherwise known as Lundwood Big Club). The team played the match at Coventry City's league ground.

Mary Sheard loaned the photograph and her uncle Nelson Bailey is far left on the middle row.

If any of our readers have any information, for instance, the year, the score or anything else, we will pass it to Mary.

Some of the players and supporters have been named. On the back row there: Arthur (Smiler) Trimbell, Cyril Parks, Townsend, Alex Kirk.

Middle row, left to right: Nelson Bailey, Albert Hirst, Walt Rylance, Alf Kirk, Ron Houchin, Jack Wood, Brian Sephton, Jack Watson, Jim Cousins, Ron Tolan, Mick Hall.

Front row: Ken Dalby, Dennis Barton, Peter Booth, Barney Lee, Harold Jackson.

Any information, please, to Kath Parkin, Barnsley Chronicle,. 47, Church Street, Barnsley S70 2AS.
