BARNSLEY Woolley Miners host Elsecar on Saturday with both sides flying high in the SYL Championship.
Elsecar are second, two points behind leaders Ackworth and eight clear of third-placed Barnsley with two to go to up.
Barnsley captain Boeta Beukes said: “It’s a big game.
“We have a nice little rivalry with them and even more so at the moment with the way the table is looking.
“Hopefully we just put on our best performance.
“Elsecar are a strong team. They had a good win over Rockingham.
“They have been scoring a lot of runs and they have some good players.
“It’s a tough challenge but a win would give us a massive confidence boost.”
Barnsley’s league game was rained off at Upper Haugh, after they made 199 with Ali Zaryab scoring 97.
Zaryab made 82 as they won at Warmsworth in the Whitworth Cup on Sunday. The match was decided on a coin toss after rain stopped play with the hosts 50 for seven from eight overs replying to 201.
Beukes said: “It was a frustrating weekend. On Saturday, the other two teams who are at the top both finished their games and won.
“Then on Sunday, Upper Haugh were playing for the rain. They are a division below and we were on top.
“Luckily I won the coin toss because it would have been a very tough one to take. I was not very happy at all about it.
“We have Ackworth next in that cup, who are top of our league, so that will be a good one.
“Ali keeps scoring runs which is great.”
