Barnsley will play three friendlies in front of fans on Saturdays this summer.
The Reds are due to travel to York City, who have just been promoted to League Two, on July 11 from 3pm. They also played there last summer then met at Oakwell in the FA Cup last season.
Daniel Stendel’s team are then due to visit Scarborough Athletic, managed by former Reds player Jonathan Greening, on July 25 at 1pm.
The East Yorkshire club return to their newly-renovated ground this summer after a spell playing in Bridlington. Scarborough were beaten in the National League North play-offs this year.
Barnsley then host League One champions Lincoln City on August 1 from 7pm. It will be the first home friendly in two years as there were none last summer due to Callum Simpson’s boxing fight.
The first team are due to play other games behind closed doors and the under 21s will also play a series of friendlies.
The season then gets underway on the weekend of August 7-9 with an EFL Cup tie before the league campaign starts a week later.
