A MISSING man’s dismembered body was found in a barrel on farmland, a jury was told.
Richard Dyson, 55, had been missing for six years until his remains were discovered at Alderthwaite Farm, on Broad Carr Road, Hoyland, last July.
Opening the prosecution’s case at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, Peter Moulson KC told jurors that Mr Dyson was shot dead on the evening of November 17, 2019.
Christopher Wright, 73, denies murder, preventing lawful burial and several firearms offences.
The trial - which is expected to last for eight weeks - continues.
