Well-wishers from all over Britain have logged onto a tribute website set up in memory of the Darfield man who died during the Great North Run on Sunday.
Michael Jeffery, 29, of Snape Hill Road, collapsed and died after the 12th mile of the half marathon on Sunday.
Fellow runners and old school friends have paid their respects by sending in emotional messages to the website.
A friend, Adam, wrote: “I’m sorry to hear of your loss and my thoughts are with you all. God Bless Michael. Sweet dreams - you are the brightest star that shines in the sky. RIP.”
