A beauty salon in Athersley is holding a fun night to raise money for a young man with terminal brain cancer.
La Rouge, on Rotherham Road, wants to raise at least £1,000 for Barnsley lad Ben Gillott, 24, who has been given about a year to live. Ben's story featured in The Chronicle on March 15.
The fund-raising is to pay for Ben's care and also take him and his fiancée on a dream trip to Las Vegas in June.
Amy Stoyles of La Rouge said Ben's story had touched her, particularly as Ben's cousin Kate Bray is a client.
Amy's business partner Diane Mitchell has also been fighting breast cancer. "We recently lost a friend to breast cancer as well," said Amy.
The fun night is on Thursday (March 28) starting at 7pm.
It is £5 entry and features a raffle - with first prize being a garden shed worth £300 - a live DJ, the rap artist Eugene Bruce, and fun sponsored activities like waxing for men.
