DOZENS of bags of rubbish have been ruining trade at a Worsbrough Common shop because the council has left them to rot for six weeks.

Tina Mallison, of Tina’s Mini Market, runs a snack bar from her grocery shop and she estimates the mess and smell caused by the festering bin bags has cost her about £400 a week in takings.

She says the 40-plus sacks, which are from nearby flats without wheelie bins, are creating a health hazard as well as keeping customers away from her business.

Tina added: “People do not want to step over dirty nappies to come in and buy fresh food, it’s disgusting."
