A DODWORTH pub could be saved from demolition after redevelopment plans were thrown out by councillors.

Peter Michejew had wanted to build 36 houses and flats on the site of the Pheasant Inn but the proposals were rejected amid concerns over road safety and over-development.

The pub, which shut earlier this year, is now open again under new management - and they want to keep the bulldozers at bay.

Mike Hallett works for Team UK, who are running the pub. He said demolition would mean local residents would miss out.
