A blue plaque has been unveiled in Cawthorne to commemorate a World War Two military camp based there.

 

The English Heritage marker was revealed at a ceremony held on Wednesday, and will serve as a permanent historical reminder of the camp, which was was open from 1941 to 1952.

 

It has been sited at the entrance of the former camp, on a stone pillar adjacent to South Lodge, The Park, Tivydale.
