The South Yorkshire police and crime commissioner has launched the second round of a grants scheme to help organisations tackle policing priorities.
Commissioner Shaun Wright is urging non-profit voluntary and community organisations to apply for grants up to £10,000.
They must deal with priorities such as reducing antisocial behaviour; protecting the most vulnerable people; improving visible policing; preventing re-offending; and ensuring victims and witnesses get a better deal.
Mr Wright said: "It may be that local people want to establish a group to produce leaflets on various safety measures or buy anti-vandal paint or door locks, supporting the police in their role.
"We want to be able to reassure residents and previous victims of crime by using this money to good effect and I'm sure that people will come up with some great ideas."
Forms can be downloaded from www.southyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk and the closing date is May 13. For more information email grants@syjs.gov.uk
