A FIRE at Gateway Plaza was started deliberately by trespassers.
Fire crews from Barnsley and Cudworth attended the scene at about 6.15pm yesterday and residents were evacuated by police.
A spokesman for Gateway Plaza said the fire was started by trespassers in a vacant retail unit on the Shambles Street frontage.
An investigation by the fire service revealed the fire was started deliberately.
