A Shafton couple and their son and daughter-in-law celebrate 100 years of marriage between them today after two anniversaries in three days.
Diamond pair Ted and Elsie Halford married on Christmas Eve 1953, while their son Michael wed Barbara on December 22 1973.
The two couples, who live together on Queens Drive, marked the joint occasion with a drink on Sunday.
Elsie, 81, a former factory worker, met Ted, 82, at a dance and they married six months later in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, before moving to Barnsley in 1955.
She said: "I don't know what's kept us together.
"We just work together, plod along together and we've been happy."
The couple have three children, as well as eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Son Michael, 57, a double-glazing worker, tied the knot with school cleaner Barbara, 58, at St Peter's Church, Barnsley, on Doncaster Road, 40 years ago.
They have three children; Michael, Dean and Kerry, six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
