Barnskey Ladies moved into second spot in the league – after maintaining their winning ways against Northumbria. The conditions were not going to make it easy for the Reds but they created a couple of early chances without really testing the 'keeper and although they were the better team during the first 45 minutes, the score remained goalless at the break. The second half continued in much the same way, with Northumbria struggling to get out of their own half. Barnsley were eventually rewarded when Becky Hale's through ball sent Kerry Jones through on goal and she shrugged off the challenge of the last defender before firing her side in front. Jones doubled the lead 10 minutes later with an easy tap-in after the 'keeper had parried a shot from Becky Fevers. and Jones completed a deserved hat-trick in the last minute to seal a 3-0 win.
