EARLY morning raids across Barnsley started a 12-day crackdown on ‘Christmas crime’.
Drugs and £1,000s in cash were seized in the first morning of Operation Christmas Impact at several addresses.
Officers recovered £15,000, which was hidden in a wardrobe, and a small amount of cannabis from a house in Kendray.
The operation will target the criminals who make life a misery for families over Christmas, police say.
A spokesman said: "The period before Christmas sees criminals targeting unsuspecting people who leave presents and other items in their cars, visible in their homes, or are carrying obviously high value items with them.
“South Yorkshire Police intends to target these offenders who ruin so many people's Christmas.”
