Labour has held their seat in a closely fought Penistone West by-election, held on 10 July.
David Griffin won the by-election, which was triggered by the death of the former incumbent, Peter Starling, in May.
The count took place Friday morning (11 June) at Barnsley town hall. The turnout was 25.7 per cent and the results were as follows:
David Griffin (Labour) - 772 votes
Andrew Millner (Conservative) - 719 votes
Steve Webber (Independent) - 338 votes
David Wood (UKIP) - 622 votes
