FED UP parish councillors fear the new £7,000 Brierley bowling green will not be ready in time for the season in April.
Brierley Town Council has issued an ultimatum to the contractors, Barnsley Council’s Neighbourhood Pride team, to bring the surface in Brierley Park up to playing standards by next month.
If they don’t the town council say it will give the contract for bringing the old playing surface back into public use to someone else, leaving Neighbourhood Pride to foot the bill.
Coun Alex Vodden said: “Nothing seemed to be happening and they have agreed they will have the bowling green up to playing standards by February."
