A 'GENTLEMAN' headmaster who served Penistone Grammar School for more than 20 years has died at the age of 76.

Martin Antony Bould, known as Tony, joined the grammar school in 1976 and was in charge until his retirement in 1997.

He leaves wife Joan, sons Andy, Christopher and Peter and seven grandchildren.

Andy said his father, who lived at Kexborough, was passionate about his work.

"He was courteous, a gentleman and a loving family man," Andy said. "He loved his job and he loved teaching the children."
