A CHARITY is encouraging Barnsley people to sleep rough so children don't have to.
Next Friday SAFE@LAST returns to The Core, Voluntary Action Barnsley for the second BIG Sleepout of the year and the charity says it's not too late to sign up.
The BIG Sleepout aims to give participants an insight into what it could be like for the many thousands of young runaways who find themselves sleeping rough - one in six young people who run away sleep rough for at least one night.
Supporters taking part in the event have to forgo all comforts, as they are only allowed basic items to keep warm such as a sleeping bag and cardboard box.
