A NUMBER of roads will be closed across the Barnsley borough on Sunday November 9 to allow Remembrance events to take place.
Church Street, St Mary's Gate and Sadler Gate in the town centre will be closed between 9am and 2pm on both Sunday and Tuesday to allow services to take place.
On Sunday in Penistone a rolling closure will be in place from the bowling club on Back Road to Market Place from 10.30am to 11am.Market Place will be closed for the service from 11am to 11.30am.
A rolling closure will be in place from Market Place to the Royal British Legion from 11.30am to 12.15pm. The one way system will be reversed for the duration of the Market Place closure, managed by police.
In Hoyland a rolling closure will be in place from St Peter's Church in Hawshaw Lane (departing at 10.30am) to Hoyland LIFT Centre, Southgate (arriving at 12pm), pausing at the war memorial at West Street from 10.55am to 11.30am for the remembrance service.
In Grimethorpe from 9.40am to 10am there will be a rolling road closure for the remembrance parade from the Bullet Sports Club to St Luke's Church.
Between 10.40am and 11.20am there will be a closure of St Luke's Road for the service at the war memorial. Between 11.20am and 11.30am there will be a rolling closure of St Luke's Road and Brierley Road for the return parade to the Bullet Sports Club.
Wombwell will see a rolling closure in place from Summer Lane car park to St Mary's Church, Kelvin Grove, from 9.30am to 10.10am. Park Street will be closed at the war memorial from 10.45am to 11.30am for the service.
In High Street, Dodworth, there will be a rolling closure from the Miners' Welfare to the war memorial at the junction with Barnsley Road from 10.35am, pausing at the memorial until 11.30am for the service.
In Monk Bretton there will be a rolling closure from the Methodist Church in Well Lane to St Paul's Church in Cross Street, from 10.50am to 11.30am, pausing at the war memorial on Church Street for an 11am service.
Staincross will see a road closure from 10.45am to 11.15am between Greenside and Church Street for the Remembrance Sunday service.
