WOMBWELL may have gained its very own Lassie after a dog woke its owner up last week to warn her of a fire.
Laddie, aged eight, is a Westie-cross-Collie. He woke his owner Doreen Gledhill, 70, up after she fell asleep as she was cooking some chicken in a pan in the kitchen.
Doreen wears hearing aids and has no sense of smell. She has owned Laddie since he was six months old, and got him as a rescue dog from the RSPCA.
