A YOUNG panto actress fell down the stairs and broke her ankle just hours before she took to the stage on opening night.
Ellen Campbell, 14, of Victoria Street, Penistone, made her debut in Rumplestiltskin at the Penistone Theatre Group's annual panto that night not knowing it was broken.
Ellen said: “I did the performance but couldn't do much because my ankle hurt. It was only afterwards that we went to the hospital and they said it was broken.”
To add insult to injury, Ellen missed out on the chance to appear on the BBCs Politics Show filmed last weekend.
