A BARNSLEY town centre confectionery shop has lost out on valuable Christmas trade after being raided by thieves.
The raiders smashed their way through a set of double doors at the Thornton's shop in May Day Green.
They then ripped out the tills and credit card readers meaning staff were only able to accept cash until the tills were replaced.
Police say they are investigating the burglary which they believe to have taken place between 7pm on Sunday and 7.30am on Monday.
