FRAUDSTERS posing as police detectives have conned two women into drawing money out of their bank accounts before going to their homes to collect it.

Police in Barnsley are urging people to be vigilant after two people fell victim to the so-called 'courier fraud' this week.

Both victims received telephone calls from men purporting to be detectives investigating theft and fraud from their bank account.

They were then asked to withdraw the money from their account and a detective would collect it.

The first incident involved a woman in her 60s from Sackup Lane, Darton, who was targeted on Monday.

A second incident was reported to police on Tuesday involving a woman in Byland Way, Monk Bretton.
