Barnsley's six-match winning run came to an end as they were held to a goalless draw at relegation-threatened Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
The Reds - who had substitute Milan Lalkovic sent off on 90 minutes - remain in sixth place in League One and have not lost in seven.
Orient were the better team for most of the match but Barnsley goalkeeper Adam Davies denied them with three fantastic saves.
Lee Johnson made just one change from the team that won at his old club Oldham on Saturday as star striker Sam Winnall made his first start since November, replacing Milan Lalkovic with the Reds changing from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2.
The home side were on top early on with Jobi McAnuff blazes over from 15 yards out before Darius Henderson and Chris Dagnall put good headed chances wide.
Davies made an excellent save to deny McAnuff when he went through one-on-one and the Reds held on for 0-0 after being second best in the first half. Davies made another fine save two minutes after the break as he kept out Ryan Hedges' low effort following more slack defending for the Reds.
Barnsley eventually came close when Alex Cisak clawed Conor Hourihane's 25-yard free-kick out of the top right corner.
Bradley Pritchard should have scored on 71 minutes when he went through but Davies produced a brilliant touch to send the shot over the bar. Former Liverpool left-back Andrea Dossena curled a late free-kick inches wide of the Reds top right corner.
Lalkovic lunged in on Orient captain Nathan Clarke and was shown a straight red.
