Barnsley remain seven points off the play-off spots after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chesterfield on Saturday. A second half strike from Sam Winnall ruled out Jay O'Shea's opener for the Spireites. Chesterfield, who were backed by a following of more than 2,000, still hold the last remaining play-off spot and are six points ahead of Lee Johnson's men with four games remaining this season. The visiting side edged the first half and deservedly went ahead after Conor Hourihane's slip was capitalised on by Jimmy Ryan who set up O'Shea to strike in on 26 minutes. Barnsley had to rally to keep any hopes of staying in the play-off picture and they did so in the second half. Returning Peter Ramage, who partnered Lewin Nyatanga in the heart of defence, played in a cross for Winnall to divert beyond the excellent Chesterfield 'keeper Tommy Lee who had made a string of saves at 1-0.Barnsley now travel to Notts County on Tuesday evening with head coach Johnson believing they will have to win every game left to get into the top six. Barnsley: Davies, Cranie, Ramage, Nyatanga, Smith, Pearson, Scowen, Hourihane (Berry 59), John (Lalkovic 86), Winnall, Waring (Ibehre 58). Unused: Hemmings, Dibble, Holgate, Bailey.
