HAULAGE contractor Mark Taylor went into the bookies last Thursday - and saved a man's life by massaging his heart and telling him his horse was still running.

Mark, 56 , of St Matthews Way, Monk Bretton, went into action when the 70-year-old collapsed clutching his heart.

He stopped breathing and everyone at William Hill's at Monk Bretton thought he had died but Mark brought him round after a few minutes.

" I kept massaging where I thought his heart was and started talking to him, hoping he could hear.

"After a while I ran out of things to say so I told him his horse was still running and it had not lost - even though the racing had not yet started. It was just something to say."
