A TAXI driver gave the kiss of life to a baby who stopped breathing in the back of his cab.
David Sanderson was taking 14-month hold Hayley Barker, her mum and Grandma home to New Lodge when the tot whimpered then became lifeless.
He pulled over, put Hayley onto the the boot of car and began mouth to mouth resuscitation.
Direct Taxi driver David passed a first aid course when he was an apprentice at a Selby pit, but has never used his skills on anything other than a dummy.
He said: “I checked her airways and responses but there was absolutely nothing. I panicked a bit at first to be honest but then I just seemed to know what to do, everything went right and within a minute she had started crying.”
