A BLANKET ban on the sale of 'legal highs' will be brought in by the government after a campaign fought by a Barnsley MP.
The news has been welcomed by Barnsley Central MP Dan Jarvis who has long campaigned against sale of 'psychoactive substances' - bath salts and plant foods, which are legal to sell, but are consumed or smoked by people.
He said: "I am determined that no-one in our community feels too intimidated to walk down their own road, or too afraid to send their children to buy a pint of milk from the corner shop. It’s time we reclaimed our town. And it’s time those who have been selling ‘legal highs’ packed up and left."
