A CHURCH-BASED charity is celebrating three years of helping people get out of debt.

Gateway Church partnered up with Christians Against Poverty in May 2012 and has so far helped 155 despairing families and individuals by offering a free, face-to-face service which gives them both hope and a solution.

Jonathan Tweedle, centre manager, said: "We have been in a lot of homes during these three years and learned about some very sad situations. Debt can be so destructive, making people feel so desperate, scared to go out or even open the curtains."
